MATES Data Download Portal

This tool provides access to the air monitoring and model-simulated data for the Multiple Air Toxics Exposure Studies (MATES II through V).

Air Monitoring Data: In all MATES studies, concentrations of air toxics were measured using 24-hour time-integrated samplers. In MATES IV and V, the monitoring portion of the studies included continuous measurements of black carbon (BC) and ultrafine particles (UFP) as well.

Model-Simulated Data: Concentrations of air toxic compounds were estimated using a computer modeling system (CAMx-WRF) and various emission processors. The model estimates annual average concentrations of air toxics. The modeling data also contains estimates of air toxics cancer risks using methodology and risk assessment values established by OEHHA, accounting for multiple exposure pathways.

For more information about the monitoring and modeling methods, please refer to the MATES final reports.
