BOARD MEETING DATE: December 8, 1995
SYNOPSIS: On June 9, 1995, the Board approved the release of RFQs to solicit bids from various vendors in order to establish a list of pre-qualified vendors from whom the AQMD may purchase various non-consultant services and supplies. Staff is recommending several vendors to be placed on a pre-qualified vendor list for the purchase of office supplies for the remainder of FY 1995-96 and for the entire FY 1996-97.

1. Approve the attached list of pre-qualified office supply vendors through June 30, 1997.

Attachment
Background
In accordance with the District's Contracting and Purchasing policy, a Public Notice Inviting Bids was published in the Los Angeles Times, La Opinion, Orange County Register, Riverside Press Enterprise, and San Bernardino Sun on August 28, 1995 and September 4, 1995; the M/W/DVBE Source on June 14, 1995 and August 30, 1995, and the Los Angeles Sentinel on August 31, 1995. In addition, it was placed on the AQMD's Bulletin Services (BBS) and RFP/Bid Information Line, and 59 bids were mailed to vendors. Bidding initially closed on July 11, 1995 but was subsequently extended to September 26, 1995.
Proposal
Bid responses were received from 18 vendors and were evaluated by Purchasing staff. The evaluation criteria consisted of the ability to provide next day delivery, individualized packaging, return policy, direct on-line computer ordering, availability of catalogs, quarterly usage reports, and cost. The results of that evaluation are listed on Attachment A. Staff is recommending that the vendors listed on Attachment B be certified as pre-qualified office supply vendors through June 30, 1997.
