Management District Board
Recommendation to Establish Classification of Telecommunications Supervisor
With the adoption of the Fiscal Year (FY) 1995-96 budget, the Board authorized deletion of a Telecommunications Analyst position and addition of a Telecommunications Supervisor position in Information Management. Human Resources has completed a review of the newly authorized Telecommunications Supervisor position. Based on the findings of that review, staff recommends establishing the classification of Telecommunications Supervisor.
This efficiency-enhancing action would allow more direct supervisory control over the District's communications-critical telecommunications and network operations functions. The proposed salary range for the position is $55,906.42 to $69,253.18.
If approved, this recommendation would be effective at the beginning of the pay period following adoption by the Board. No additional appropriation is requested for this action since the position and salary have already been approved in the FY 1995-96 budget.
THEREFORE, IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT YOUR BOARD
--Approve addition of the class of Telecommunications Supervisor to the District's classification plan, adoption of the attached class specification, amendment of the District's Salary Resolution to establish the salary of the class, allocation of one position to the class, and addition of that allocated position to Information Management.
Respectfully,
James M. Lents, Ph.D.
