Management District Board
The Advisory Council is a Board scientific advisory committee which was established in April 1977 through Board resolution and since 1980 has been mandated under state law. On July 31, 1995, the two-year term for each of the Advisory Council members will expire. In light of the current Committee workplans, and the assignment to develop white papers on key issues as an assistance to staff, the re-appointment of the following Advisory Council members is recommended:
Janet Arey; William Carter; Steven Colome; Jane Hall; Nichols Hazelwood; John Peters; Russell Sherwin; Akula Venkatram; Carla Walecka; Amy Walton; and Arthur Winer
Resignations for the upcoming term were submitted by Drs. David Allen, James Ortner and James Whittenberger. To fill these vacancies, the Advisory Council is contacting individuals in the scientific community to determine potential interest in participating on the Council. The names of these individuals will be submitted to the Board for consideration in the future.
Committee assignments for each proposed Advisory Council member is attached along with their respective resumes. Advisory Council members will continue to receive a $100 meeting per diem and roundtrip mileage.
THEREFORE, IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT YOUR BOARD
--Approve the appointment of the following individuals to the Advisory Council for a two-year term ending July 31, 1997: Janet Arey; William Carter; Steven Colome; Jane Hall; Nichols Hazelwood; John Peters; Russell Sherwin; Akula Venkatram; Carla Walecka; Amy Walton; and Arthur Winer.
