Ninth Semi-Annual Report of the
Coachella Valley PM10 Technical Working Group
SYNOPSIS:
As part of Resolution 90-49 adopting the 1990 State Implementation Plan (SIP) for PM10 in the Coachella Valley, the Governing Board established a Technical Working Group (TWG) to evaluate technical information and to resolve technical issues encountered during SIP implementation and its subsequent 1994 revision. One of the requirements of the TWG is to prepare semi-annual progress reports to the Governing Board and the Coachella Valley Association of Governments' Executive Committee. This is the ninth semi-annual report and covers the period January 1, 1995 through June 30, 1995.

As part of Resolution 90-49 adopting the "State Implementation Plan for PM10 in the Coachella Valley" (Plan), the AQMD's Governing Board established a Technical Working Group (TWG) comprised of AQMD staff members and designated representatives from the Coachella Valley Association of Governments (CVAG). The TWG's objectives are to evaluate technical information, pursue funding sources for local governments, and resolve technical issues during the implementation of the Plan. One of the requirements of the TWG is to prepare semi-annual reports for the AQMD's Governing Board and CVAG's Executive Committee.
The attached report represents the TWG's ninth semi-annual report, covering the period January 1, 1995 through June 30, 1995. Some of the key accomplishments during this six-month period include the following:
(1) selection of a contractor to conduct post-event street cleaning;
(2) completion of Phase I of the Clean Streets Management Demonstration Project;
(3) initiation of a vegetative wind barrier project with the City of Indio; and
(4) Caltrans' acceptance of right-of-way certifications for paving and chemical stabilization projects funded under the federal Congestion Management and Air Quality Improvement portion of the Intermodal Surface Transportation Efficiency Act.
