Approve the Appointment by the South Coast Air Quality Management District Building Corporation of John Donaldson to the Building Corporation’s Board of Directors

Synopsis:

As a result of the resignation of Mr. Kevin P. Daugherty, a vacancy exists on the Board of Directors of the South Coast Air Quality Management District Building Corporation. The Building Corporation’s bylaws require that its appointment of a member to its Board of Directors be approved by the District’s Governing Board.

Approve the South Coast Air Quality Management District Building Corporation’s appointment of Mr. John Donaldson to its Board of Directors.

Background

The South Coast Air Quality Management District Building Corporation is a non-profit corporation created pursuant to Internal Revenue Service Code Section 501d and provides a means for the AQMD to finance the acquisition and improvement of property to accommodate AQMD’s space needs. Its bylaws provide that appointments to its Board of Directors be approved by the AQMD Governing Board. The Building Corporation has appointed Mr. John Donaldson to its Board of Directors, subject to the approval of the AQMD Governing Board. Mr. Donaldson recently retired after 35 years with Hughes Aerospace where he provided expertise in facility management, strategic planning, new construction, maintenance, support services, asset management, leases, acquisitions and divestitures. He also has experience in corporate real estate work. Mr. Donaldson would be an asset to the Building Corporation’s Board of Directors and the AQMD is extremely fortunate that someone of Mr. Donaldson’s qualifications is willing to serve in this pro bono capacity.
