Background

Health and Safety Code Section 40271 (enacted in 1994) provides that CARB, in consultation with Cal-EPA, review and comment on the South Coast AQMD’s Three-Year Budget Forecast. As part of that review, CARB recommended that contract activity be reported periodically to the Board. The attached report is divided into four categories: New Awards, Other, Sponsorships, and Amendments. Within each category, contract type is specified and within each type, level of approval is indicated. The greatest number of FY 1995-96 contract actions were Amendments (40%), followed by New Awards (38%), Other (13%) and Sponsorships (9%). The Governing Board approved 75 contracts and amendments totaling $10,743,354; the Executive Officer approved 202 contracts and amendments totaling $2,259,659. A total of 277 contracts and amendments were awarded totaling $13,002,998.
