Receive Public Input on Executive Officer’s Program Goals/Objectives for FY 1997-98

Synopsis:

A set of Program Goals/Objectives for FY 1997-98 has been developed. The Executive Officer wishes to receive public and Board member input on these Program Goals/Objectives as they will serve as the foundation for the AQMD’s FY 1997-98 Budget and Work Program.

Recommended Action:

Set Public Hearing May 9, 1997 to adopt the FY 1997-98 AQMD Budget and Work Program.

The AQMD’s Program Goals/Objectives for FY 1997-98 were transmitted to the Board and public at the January 10, 1997 Board meeting in preparation for a hearing February 14, 1997 to provide interested parties with the opportunity for early input into the budget process. The Program Goals/Objectives (attached), which may be modified as a result of public input and Board direction, will be used in developing next year’s work program and budget request. A public workshop is planned for April 16, 1997 to present the AQMD’s Budget and Work Program request for FY 1997-98.

Proposal

In addition to receiving Board and public input on the Program Goals/Objectives, this action is to set a public hearing May 9, 1997 to adopt the FY 1997-98 AQMD Budget and Work Program.
