BOARD MEETING DATE: February 14, 1997 AGENDA NO. 9

Proposal:

Execute Contract with the City of Compton to Cost-Share the Demonstration of Photovoltaic-Integrated Roofs in a Residential Development

Synopsis:

At its April 12, 1996 meeting the Board approved execution of a contract with Enertron Consultants, working on behalf of Nehemiah West Housing Corporation, to install photovoltaic-integrated roofs on 12 new single-family homes in Compton. The total project cost is $300,000, and AQMD's contribution is $100,000. During contract negotiations, staff determined that due to liability concerns, it would be preferable instead to execute the contract with the City of Compton.

Committee:

Technology, January 17, 1997, Recommended for Approval

Recommended Action:

Authorize the Chairman to execute a contract with the City of Compton in an amount not to exceed $100,000 from the Advanced Technology Fund to cost-share the installation of photovoltaic-integrated roofs on 12 new homes in the City of Compton.
