Proposal:
Report on Major Projects for Information Management Scheduled to Start During the First Six Months of FY 1997-98
Synopsis:
Information Management is responsible for designing, developing, installing, and maintaining data automation systems for the AQMD as a whole. This action is to provide advance notification on major automation contracts and projects to be initiated by Information Management during the first six months of FY 1997-98. A similar report will be provided in January 1998 covering major contracts and projects anticipated during the next six-month period.

Background
Information Management (IM) provides a wide range of information systems and services in support of all AQMD operations. IMs primary goal is to provide automated tools and systems to implement Board-approved rules and regulations and to improve internal efficiencies. AQMDs approved Budget identifies specific projects planned during the fiscal year to develop, acquire, enhance, or maintain mission-critical information systems. In July and January of each fiscal year, Information Management will be providing a report to the Board that details major projects/contracts or purchases that are expected during the next six months.
Summary of Report
The attached report identifies each of the major projects/contracts or purchases that are expected to come before the Board between July 1, 1997 and December 31, 1997. Information provided for each project includes a brief project description, approved FY 97/98 Budget, and the schedule associated with known major milestone (issue RFP/RFQ, execute contract, etc.).
