Background
Health and Safety Code Sec. 40721, enacted in 1994, provides that CARB, in consultation with CalEPA, review and comment on the AQMDs Three-Year Budget Forecast. As part of that review, CARB made recommendations in both the administrative and program areas. A key recommendation regarding contracting and purchasing processes was that a periodic report of such activity be provided to the Governing Board.
Summary of Report
Within each of four categories (New Awards; Other; Sponsorships; and Amendments) the contract type is listed; within each type, the level of approval (Board or Executive Officer) is indicated. Approximately 62% of contracts issued during this period were New Awards and approximately 38% were Amendments to existing contracts. Of the 90 contracts awarded (totaling $4,679,064), 16 were approved by the Governing Board ($3,943,761) and 74 were approved by the Executive Officer ($735,303).
