BOARD MEETING DATE: January 8, 1999 AGENDA NO. 16
PROPOSAL:
Issue an RFP for Travel Agency Services
SYNOPSIS:
Annually, the AQMD spends approximately $200,000 in travel and related transportation and lodging services. Once every three years qualified travel service providers are given an opportunity to compete for the AQMDs travel business. Due to changes occurring in 1998 in the airline industry and the lack of commission subsidy, our current travel agency has elected not to continue with the AQMD for a third year under the current terms and conditions.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Approve the attached RFP for Travel Agency Services.
