BOARD MEETING DATE: January 8, 1999 AGENDA NO. 20
Barry R. Wallerstein, D.Env.
Executive Officer
AQMD is required by state law to publish a list of all rules potentially scheduled for
consideration during the coming year. Every January, the Rule and Control Measure Forecast
Report is expanded for this purpose and to present a progress report for the Board. The
rule schedule for 1999 is demanding. In order for the region to maintain emission
reduction progress toward attainment and implement the AQMP, and establish EPA mandated
programs, staff will be bringing approximately 13 control measures contained in the 1997
AQMP and approximately 46 rules for proposed amendment/adoption before the Board for
action in 1999.
Several significant hearing items are scheduled to be brought before the Board in 1999.
Among the most critical are the following:
Staff is committed to maintaining the proposed hearing dates established in the Rule
and Control Measure Forecast Report to achieve the necessary emission reductions required
by the AQMP.
