PROPOSAL: 

Remove Various Fixed Assets from AQMD Inventory

SYNOPSIS: 

AQMD Policy and Procedure No. 20 requires Board approval to declare fixed assets as surplus items. This action is to declare certain fixed assets as surplus equipment and vehicles determined to be obsolete or broken and not worth repairing.

COMMITTEE: 

Administrative, October 15, 1999, Recommended for Approval

RECOMMENDED ACTION:

Declare the items on the attached list to be surplus and authorize their deletion from the AQMD fixed asset inventory; and authorize the Procurement Manager to dispose of these obsolete or damaged fixed assets, including laboratory equipment, computer equipment, and vehicles by direct sales, public auction or donation.

Background

Staff has identified laboratory equipment, computer equipment, and vehicles that are obsolete or broken and not worth repairing. Where required, this equipment has already been replaced. AQMD's Administrative Policy and Procedure No. 20 provides that surplus property is to be surrendered to the Procurement Manager for disposal.

Resource Impacts

Funds collected from the sale of surplus items will be credited to the District General Account.
