SUMMARY OF AGENDA ITEM

There were presentations from the safety team, and the light-duty (car) team.

The safety team discussed team participation from auto companies, false hydrogen alarms, resolution of SCAQMD concerns, safety manuals of each auto company, and confidentiality issues regarding these manuals.

The Partnership issued a position paper to summarize the highlights of the Roadmap study, its relation to the Partnership goals, key limiting assumptions, key findings of the roadmap study, FCV commercialization goals, demonstrating FCV and their fuel performance, raising the awareness of FCVs, and continuing activity beyond year 2003. The Partnership discussed the role of environmental organizations and their input into the roadmap study.

The Partnership also discussed post -2003 activity in terms of forming a core group to lead it. This would consist of AQMD and ARB, 2 auto, 2 fuel, DOE and 1 fuel technology.

There were also presentations from the Fuels Team, Bus Team, DOT, and the European Transportation and Energy Studies Team. The Communications Team listed the Orange County Fair, Bibendum, and the International Conference.

The next meeting is scheduled for October 16-17, 2001 at the AQMD facilities in Diamond Bar, CA.
