SYNOPSIS: 

(A) Set Public Hearing February 16, 2001 to Receive Public Input on Executive Officer's Proposed Program Goals/Objectives for FY 2001-02

A set of Program Goals/Objectives for FY 2001-02 has been developed. The Executive Officer wishes to receive public and Board member input on these proposed Program Goals/Objectives as they will serve as the foundation for the AQMD's FY 2001-02 Budget and Work Program.

 

(B) Set Public Hearing March 16, 2001 to Consider Adoption of Proposed Rule 1612.1 - Mobil Source Credit Generation Pilot Program

Proposed Rule 1612.1 will provide opportunities for generation of NOx mobile source emission reduction credits (MSERCs) through a pilot program. Credits can be generated from voluntary replacement of diesel-fueled captive heavy-duty fleets, yard hostlers or refuse trucks exempt from Rule 1193. NOx MSERCs generated through this program can only be used in RECLAIM. (Review: Mobile Source Committee and Stationary Source Committee on January 26, 2001.)

The complete text of the proposed rule, staff reports and other supporting documents will be available no later than February 14, 2001, from the District’s Public Information Center, (909) 396-2550 and on the Internet (www.aqmd.gov). The Proposed Program Goals/Objectives will be available no later than February 8, 2001.

RECOMMENDED ACTION:

Set Public Hearings on (1) February 16, 2001 on the Executive Officer's Proposed Program Goals/Objectives for FY 2001-02; and (2) March 16, 2001 to consider adoption of proposed Rule 1612 - Mobil Source Credit Generation Pilot Program.
