PROPOSAL:  

Remove Surplus Vehicles from AQMD Inventory

SYNOPSIS:  

AQMD Policy and Procedure No. 20 requires Board approval to declare fixed assets as surplus items. This action is to declare damaged and older, high-mileage vehicles that are not cost effective to repair as surplus vehicles.

COMMITTEE:

RECOMMENDED ACTION:

Declare the items on the attached list to be surplus and authorize their deletion from the AQMD fixed asset inventory; and authorize the Procurement Manager to dispose of these obsolete or damaged vehicles by public auction.

Background

Staff has identified damaged and older, high-mileage vehicles that are not cost effective to repair and recommends the Board authorize the Procurement Manager to dispose of these vehicles in accordance with Administrative Policy and Procedure No. 20.

Resource Impacts

Funds collected from the sale of surplus items will be credited to the District General Fund.
