Background

At its April 9, 1999 meeting, the Governing Board approved a revised Procurement Policy and Procedure. Under the revised policy, RFPs and RFQs for budgeted items over $50,000, which follow the standard evaluation criteria, will no longer require individual Governing Board approval. However, a monthly report of all RFPs and RFQs over $50,000 will be included as part of the Board agenda package and the Board may, if desired, take individual action on any. The report provides the title and synopsis of the RFP or RFQ, the budgeted funds available, the release date, the closing date, the type of evaluation method, and the AQMD contact.

RFP

Issue RFP to Hire Outside Liability Counsel

Baird/2302

P2002-12

From time to time the AQMD requires the assistance of outside litigation counsel having expertise and experience handling liability claims, such as automobile accidents. The purpose of this RFP is to solicit qualified law firms or sole practitioners to establish a pre-qualified list that District Counsel may use to represent the AQMD in possible future litigation where outside counsel is required for general liability matters. The total funding for this RFP will be a maximum of $150,000 for a three-year period. The intent of this RFP is to create a list of two to three knowledgeable and experienced liability attorneys or firms and to contract with them as lawsuits or other matters arise. Due to the indefinite nature of the work, the actual contract amount for each contractor selected cannot be determined at this time.

RFP

Issue RFP for Investment Consultant Services

Pearce/2828

2002-14

The AQMD uses outside investment consultant services to assist it in making specific investment decisions and to provide investment monitoring and compliance reporting services. The purpose of this RFP is to solicit qualified firms with technical expertise and demonstrated experience as independent investment consultants specializing in municipal investment services.
