This report highlights AQMD rulemaking activity and public workshops tentatively scheduled for the year 2003.

At the April 4, 2003 meeting, the Board set the public hearing for Proposed Rule 1105.1 in June to allow additional time for industry and staff to work on the proposed regulatory approach. |

Emission Reductions from Livestock Waste |
|
Proposed Rule 1127 is being rescheduled from July to September to explore more effective emission reduction strategies from this source category. |

Rule 1193 |
On-Road Residential and Commercial Waste Collection Vehicles |
|
Proposed amended Rule 1193 is being added for a June public hearing. The proposed changes to the rule are the result of staffs evaluation of dual-fuel engines using natural gas fuel under stop-and-go waste collection duty cycles. |

Rule 1198 |
On-Road Motor Vehicle Mitigation Options |
|
Proposed Rule 1198 Intermodal Equipment is being rescheduled from July to September to allow additional time for staff analysis and working with stakeholders. |

Furniture Stripping Operations |

Proposed Rule 1437 is being moved from June to November to allow more time to evaluate emission reduction approaches. |

A report to the Board will be presented in June for a public hearing regarding recommendations on whether to include power producing facilities in RECLAIM. Reg. XX is being rescheduled from June to October to incorporate Board direction at the June hearing. |

Advance Target for Board Hearings
Below is a list of all rulemaking activity scheduled for the year 2003. The
last three columns refer to the type of rule adoption or amendment: AQMP refers
to the adoption and implementation of AQMP control measures (Attachment A);
Toxics refers to the adoption and implementation of programmatic as well as
source-specific toxic-related rules (Attachment B); and Other refers to
administrative rules or changes to an existing rule to clarify or improve rule
enforceability, SIP corrections, or implementing state or federal regulations
(Attachment C). A more detailed description of the proposed rule adoption or
amendment is located after this calendar under the type of rule adoption or
amendment (i.e. AQMP, Toxics, and Other) Upcoming Public Workshops are located
at the end of the report (Attachment D).
