PROPOSAL:

Approve Salary Adjustment for District Counsel

SYNOPSIS:

The Personnel Committee has reviewed Board Member evaluations of District Counsel performance and recommends the same two-percent salary adjustment provided in labor contracts and approved in July for all other employees.

Approve a two-percent salary adjustment for District Counsel effective July 5, 2004.

Background

In April 2004, Board Members provided performance evaluation information on the Executive Officer and District Counsel, which the Personnel Committee compiled. In July, the Board approved a two-percent adjustment for the Executive Officer, but action on the District Counsel was delayed pending her return from vacation. The Committee has now had the opportunity to meet with District Counsel regarding the Board’s evaluation.

Proposal

Based on Board Member evaluations, the Personnel Committee recommends a two-percent salary adjustment consistent with adjustments provided in labor contracts and approved for all other employees.

Resource Impacts

The annual salary cost, for Fiscal Year 2004-05, of this recommendation is approximately $2,713. Sufficient funds are available in the FY 2004-05 Budget.
