COMMITTEE:

Personnel, June 1, 2004, Recommended for Approval

RECOMMENDED ACTION:

Approve a two-percent salary adjustment for the Executive Officer effective July 5, 2004.

Jane W. Carney
Chair, Personnel Committee

Background

In April 2004, Board Members provided performance evaluation information on the Executive Officer and District Counsel to the Personnel Committee. The Committee has compiled the information and has had the opportunity to meet with the Executive Officer regarding the Board’s evaluation. A recommendation regarding District Counsel will be made once a similar discussion can be arranged, since District Counsel was on vacation at the time of the last Personnel Committee meeting.

Proposal

Based on the Board’s indication, as expressed in evaluations Board Members submitted to the Personnel Committee, that it is very pleased with the performance of the Executive Officer, the Personnel Committee recommends a two-percent salary adjustment consistent with adjustments provided in labor contracts and recommended in a separate item for all other employees.

Resource Impacts

The annual salary cost, for Fiscal Year 2004-05, of this recommendation is approximately $3,605. Sufficient funds are available in the FY 2004-05 Budget.
