PROPOSAL:
SYNOPSIS:
COMMITTEE:
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Barry R. Wallerstein, D.Env. Background Since August 1995, the AQMD has been utilizing the services of student interns from the Co-op Program of the Cal Poly Pomona Foundation. This program has been beneficial for both the AQMD and the student interns. College students who are selected in the program have gained real-world work experience at the same time that they are earning academic credits for their college education. These interns perform such tasks as assisting in the fixed asset inventory, financial report reconciliation, and performing miscellaneous tasks in Payroll and Accounting. The total amount of the contract through June 30, 2004 is $72,000 which includes the amount of $24,000 approved by the Board in June 2001. It is estimated that $24,000 of student intern services will be needed in FY 2004-05. Because an amendment of this contract will cause the cumulative contract funding to exceed $50,000, Board approval of a new contract is requested. Proposal Execute a new contract with Cal Poly Pomona Foundation for Co-op Program Services in an amount not to exceed $24,000 through August 31, 2005. Resource Impacts Funding for outside services for student interns in an amount not to exceed $24,000 is included in the FY 2004-05 Budget. / / / |
