Background

At its April 9, 1999 meeting, the Board approved a revised Procurement Policy and Procedure. Under the revised policy, RFPs and RFQs for budgeted items over $50,000, which follow the standard evaluation criteria, no longer require individual Board approval. However, a monthly report of all RFPs and RFQs over $50,000 is included as part of the Board agenda package and the Board may, if desired, take individual action on any item. The report provides the title and synopsis of the RFP or RFQ, the budgeted funds available, the release date, the closing date, the type of evaluation method, and the AQMD contact.

REQUESTS FOR QUALIFICATIONS - Prequalified Vendor List

RFQ #Q2004-13

Establish List of Prequalified Vendors to Provide Library Services and Supplies

Marlia/3148

The AQMD is seeking to prequalify vendors providing library services and supplies. Vendors selected will be issued purchase orders for the acquisition, cataloging, shelf preparation of books, periodicals, and other printed and multi-media materials used in the AQMD Library. This action is to issue an RFP, the responses to which will be used to establish a list of prequalified vendors for a period of two years. This bidding and prequalification process will ensure that the AQMD is using the most cost-effective providers for these services and supplies. Funds for these services and supplies ($80,000) are included in the FY 2004-05 Budget.

RFP #P2004-23

Issue RFP to Hire Outside Liability Counsel

Baird/2302

From time to time the AQMD requires the assistance of outside litigation counsel having expertise and experience handling liability claims, such as automobile accidents. The purpose of this RFP is to solicit qualified law firms or sole practitioners to establish a pre-qualified list that District Counsel may use to represent the AQMD in possible future litigation where outside counsel is required for general liability matters. The total funding for this RFP will be a maximum of $250,000 for a three-year period. The intent of this RFP is to create a list of knowledgeable and experienced liability attorneys or firms and to contract with them as lawsuits or other matters arise. Due to the indefinite nature of the work, the actual contract amount for each contractor selected cannot be determined at this time.
