PROPOSAL:

Amend Rule 1171 – Solvent Cleaning Operations

SYNOPSIS:

Board consideration of a portion of subdivision (c)(1) of Proposed Amended Rule 1171 for newsprint was continued to the September 8, 2006 meeting to allow time for additional field evaluation.  Staff proposes to implement the 100 gram per liter VOC limit for clean up solvents for ink application equipment used for lithographic printing on newsprint.

Continue Public Hearing to October 6, 2006.

The Stationary Source Committee was not able to consider staff’s proposal at its July 28, 2006 meeting.  Staff recommends further continuation of this item to the October 6, 2006 Governing Board meeting.  The Board Letter dated July 7, 2006 is attached as a reference with respect to the proposal pertaining to newsprint.
