Adopt Corrected Resolution Regarding Hearing Board Compensation

SYNOPSIS:

The Resolution regarding Hearing Board compensation that was adopted by the Board in November inadvertently omitted changes made by the Board on June 9, 2006. This action is to adopt the corrected Resolution.

Background

In November, the Board adopted an amended Resolution that adjusted Hearing Board compensation. Inadvertently, changes to Resolution 06-20 adopted by the Board on
June 9, 2006, were omitted from the Resolution.

Proposal

The attached Resolution has been corrected to reflect prior Board actions.

RESOLUTION NO. 07-

               A Resolution of the South Coast Air Quality Management District (AQMD) Governing Board amending the Resolution adopted November 2, 2007, regarding the AQMD Hearing Board.

               WHEREAS the AQMD Governing Board seeks to correct the inadvertent omission from the Resolution adopted November 2, 2007, of a provision regarding expense reimbursements for the AQMD Hearing Board that had been previously adopted on June 9, 2006.

               THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the AQMD Governing Board, State of California, in regular session assembled on December 7, 2007, does hereby re-adopt the following provision originally adopted June 9, 2006, but inadvertently omitted in the Resolution adopted November 2, 2007: that, in addition to such compensation, each member or alternate member shall receive reimbursement for travel, meals, and lodging as prescribed by Section 120 of AQMD’s Administrative Code when performing their official functions or attending approved conferences, in an amount not to exceed $8,000 per year. This reimbursement amount also includes lunch expenses, within limits established in Section 120 of the Administrative Code, on days when hearings extend beyond the noon hour. Receipts are required for all expense reimbursements.

               BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Resolution No. 06-20, adopted June 9, 2006, is hereby repealed.
