PROPOSAL:
SYNOPSIS:
COMMITTEE:
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Barry R. Wallerstein, D.Env. Background Information Management’s FY 2007-08 Budget includes tasks to begin replacement of corporate servers. These servers are ten or more years old and must be replaced because their architecture is obsolete and will no longer be supported by the manufacturer. This server replacement requires significant systems migration effort, including rewriting server-dependant software code. Internal and temporary staff were budgeted for this effort in FY 2007-08. Proposal Internal and temporary programming staff have been redirected to modifying AQMD’s annual emission reporting program to convert it to a web-based reporting tool and to accommodate greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions as required by CARB in their mandatory GHG emission reporting regulations. In order to continue and maintain the budgeted work on the server migration in a timely manner, Information Management’s services and supplies budget must be supplemented to provide for temporary staff and consultants. Resource Impacts Funding for this effort will require an appropriation of $150,000 from the Undesignated Fund Balance to Information Management’s FY 2007-08 Budget. Sufficient funds are available in the Undesignated Fund Balance. |
