SYNOPSIS:

The Legislative Committee held its regular meeting on Friday, December 8, 2006 and conducted interviews for legislative representation in Washington, D.C.  The next Legislative Committee meeting is scheduled for Friday, January 12, 2007 at 8:00 a.m. in Conference Room CC8.

The Legislative Committee met on December 8, 2006.  Present was Committee Chair Jane Carney.  Present, by videoconference, were Committee Members Roy Wilson, Michael Antonovich, and Tonia Reyes Uranga.

Interviews for Legislative Representation in Washington, D.C.

Committee members interviewed four firms:  Bartlett & Bendall, LLC, CJ Strategies, LLC, PodestaMattoon, Inc., and Turner Government and Public Affairs.  At the conclusion of all interviews, there was no longer a quorum.

It was recommended by Jane Carney, Committee Chair, that two firms, namely, Bartlett & Bendall, LLC, and PodestaMattoon, Inc., be forwarded to the Governing Board for further consideration at the January Board meeting.  Larry Greene, Air Pollution Control Officer for the Sacramento Metropolitan AQMD was present for all interviews and stated that his Board has granted him the authority to execute a contract and that he concurred with the recommendation of the two firms going forward for the Board’s final consideration.  [Please refer to the January 5, 2007 Board Agenda Item # 25 for additional information on this item.]
