PROPOSAL:

Approve Executive Officer Salary Adjustment and Contract Revision

SYNOPSIS:

The Personnel Committee recommends the Executive Officer, based on his Fiscal Year 2007-08 job performance, receive the same CPI-based 3.3 % salary adjustment provided other employees, effective July 14, 2008, and, in recognition of time demands made of the position, that the Executive Officer contract be revised to permit the ability to sell back an additional 80 hours of unused vacation annually.

RECOMMENDED ACTIONS:

Approve CPI-based salary adjustment of 3.3% for the Executive Officer effective July 14, 2008, and revise the contract to allow the Executive Officer to sell back an additional 80 hours of unused vacation annually.

Background

The Personnel Committee meets annually to review Executive Officer performance and recommend salary adjustments.


Proposal

Based on the Board’s indication, as expressed in evaluations Board Members submitted to the Personnel Committee, that it is very pleased with the performance of the Executive Officer, the Personnel Committee recommends he receive the same CPI-based 3.3% salary adjustment provided other employees, effective July 14, 2007. Additionally, in recognition of the time demands placed on the Executive Officer, the Committee recommends his contract be revised to permit the option of selling back an additional 80 hours annually.


Resource Impacts

The annual cost, for FY 2008-09, of this recommendation is approximately $17,149. Sufficient funds are available in the approved FY 2008-09 Budget.
