This report highlights AQMD rulemaking activity and public workshops potentially scheduled for the year 2009.

The Rule and Control Measure Forecast Report provides the Board with a monthly update of AQMD’s rulemaking and control measure implementation schedule. Scheduling changes that occurred since last month’s forecast are summarized.

| Regulation III is moved to June from May to synchronize the Public Hearing slated for the regulation with that of the AQMD’s Budget proposal. | |

| Regulation X is removed from the calender for April. U.S. EPA has not issued any new standards in the last year which require a Regulation X amendment. | |
| 1193 | Clean On-Road Residential and Commercial Refuse Collection Vehicles |
| Amendments to Rule 1193 are being scheduled for July for purposes of improving the implementation of Rule 1193 and clarifying the requirements of private fleets as they operate under exclusive contracts with public entities based on recent U.S. Supreme Court and appellate court decisions. | |

| Staff is currently working with the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach on the Clean Air Action Plan’s San Pedro Bay Standards to ensure that the ports will achieve specific criteria pollutant and diesel particulate matter emission reductions. The results of San Pedro Bay Standards will influence staff’s recommendations for Proposed Rule 4010. Rule 4010 is moved to October from April to allow staff to continue working with the ports and other stakeholders in rule development. | |
